Yoga Collective Classes

Grow with Your Teacher

At Movement Culture, we cherish the spirit of community that thrives within our yoga practice. While yoga has traditionally been passed down from teacher to student, we take it a step further by fostering direct connections between teachers and their students.

Our teachers are encouraged to share their unique approach to yoga, creating a space where students can engage deeply with their practice under the guidance of a trusted mentor. By prioritizing this personalized interaction, we not only strengthen the student-teacher relationship but also cultivate a supportive community where everyone feels valued and supported on their journey.

We are proud to uphold the tradition of imparting the timeless teachings of yoga in a way that honors the individuality of both teachers and students. At Movement Culture, our commitment to community shines through in every class, as we come together to explore, learn, and grow in harmony.

Lily
(she/her)
Instructor

Lily is passionate about relationality. The way we relate to ourselves, one another, and the world is an essential part of who we are. Lily began her yoga practice when she was a teenager longing to find greater connection to her body. In Sedona in 2018, Lily received her 200RYT. Today, her classes weave together invitations of becoming more curious of our relationship to our bodies as well as expanding how we are connecting to ourselves on and off the mat. Exploring relationality can be felt in Lily’s teachings and in her relationship practices out of the studio. Together we get the opportunity to create the world we want through allowing ourselves to be touched by the world, ourselves, and one another.

Class Description: Bhakti flow is a yoga class designed for devotion. Each class begins with a meditation to bring into awareness where we choose to place our devotion today. As we flow into asana, we continue to hold this devotion in our awareness as we flow, breathe, and move our energy bodies. This class will explore some traditional asana shapes while incorporating movement in and through longer holds. Come root your devotion into your body and energy field.

Phillip
(he/him)
Instructor

As a massage therapist Phillip always recommended his clients take yoga to help with mobility, flexibility, as well as allow them to meditate and reset. Eventually, in 2021 he decided to practice what he preached and went through yoga teacher training. To him, nothing feels as good as it should until he practices yoga. Given his very diverse background and life experiences, Phillip brings something different and special for everyone in his practice.

This 60 minute Yoga class is designed for all bodies and levels, beginner through advanced. We will blend the best aspects of Hot Yoga, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga for a rejuvenating and empowering experience. This will be accomplished by seamlessly combining movements and standing postures typically found in traditional Hot Yoga, with more dynamic Yoga Flow movement sequences. Modifications will be offered that allow all to access poses with ease and comfort, while still fully benefiting from the practice. This class is all about you, for you, giving you the opportunity to just be you.

Amanda
(she/her)
Instructor/ CE coordinator

Amanda Freed LMT, RYT, CMMI, is a licensed massage therapist and certified yoga and meditation teacher with over 35 years combined experience as a healer and intuitive. Practically from birth Amanda had been keenly aware of greater levels of consciousness; “a life beyond the obvious” one might say, but being raised in a “normal” time and place and in a family that was, as were most, concerned with worldly pursuits Amanda found life difficult, even painful. This discomfort followed her as she tried desperately to “fit in” and failed. It wasn’t until her mid twenties that she decided, almost circuitously, to answer the call of spirit and delve deep below the surface of daily life where she finally found purpose and joy.

After graduating from the Swedish Institute of Massage in NYC in 1988, Amanda found herself drawn more deeply to eastern studies including yoga, meditation, and various contemplative studies. Amanda pursued her passion for these deeper levels of awareness by studying with Native American tribes, academic scholars, and world renowned yoga and meditation experts. She has been a highly respected yoga and meditation instructor for over 20 years, is a senior member of an esoteric meditation community and is certified to teach meditation through the McLean Institute.

Whether it be through asana, guided meditation, Amanda’s signature Mantra Meditation course, Soul Readings or her 4 or 6 month Dharma Discovery Programs, Amanda is committed to meeting each student where they are and helping them to achieve their highest expression of SELF in this lifetime.

Amanda is devoted to living a life of service and her passion is assisting students and clients in living a fully aligned life. Her method of teaching is fun, easy to learn and honors each individual as an active, thinking human being capable of exploring higher states of consciousness.

Amanda teaches public and private yoga and meditation classes, workshops and retreats and offers limited clients massage therapy by appt.
